ASIS International Member honored in Dallas by the Anti Terrorism Accreditation Board.
Ron Lander, CPP, of Ultrasafe Security Specialists of Norco, California, was honored at the recent Dallas, Texas “Hawaiian” dinner celebration with the coveted “Certified Master Anti-Terrorism Specialist” designation (CMAS).
The Master Anti-Terrorism Specialist designation is reserved for individuals that meet the “ CAS” or Certified Anti-terrorism Specialist qualification, have proven and distinguished themselves in the Terrorism Response Fields for over 15 years and have a established a track record of conducting security and response operations. Additionally, they must submit a white paper on terrorism response actions or incident command. Mr. Lander’s white paper addressed the Terrorism Threat at Medium and Small Airports in the United States. Ultrasafe has consulted for, or installed security systems at over a dozen GA Airports in the Southwest United States.
Mr. Lander, who retired as a Sergeant after 23 years with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and his company have been involved in providing physical security and consulting services for countless community airports throughout the Southwest, celebrity and hi-profile homes and other niche markets for the past fifteen years.
In conjunction with Mr. Lander’s promotion, he was one of two Americans invited by the Italian Institute for Trade to participate in the Biennial International Security Conference in Milan, Italy in mid-November.
Mr. Lander was asked to share his experiences as a security professional in the U.S. and to learn about the strategies and tactics for anti-terrorism on the European front. In addition to his CMAS rating, Mr. Lander has held the prestigious title of “Certified Protection Professional” for over ten years. He is a member of ASIS, AAAE and SWAAAE, and other organizations.
