VENTURA COUNTY AIRPORTS TO GET “ STAT E OF THE ART”
VIDEO SURVEILLANCE AND ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS

The County of Ventura Department of Airports recently signed an agreement with Ultrasafe Security Specialists for the installation of Access Control and Video Surveillance systems at both Oxnard and Camarillo airports.

Both airports will receive leading edge technology featuring Wireless Wide Area Network Access Control by Brivo® Access Systems and Wireless Video Transmission Access Control Verification Systems by Diginet®, a leading provider of digital video systems.

Airport Operations personnel will have the ability to control Access and cross-communicate between the two airports. Also, both facilities can be viewed and controlled from one or more remote locations.  Real-time viewing and recording for at least one month will be provided and available via the Internet to authorized users.

The systems, which will be installed by the end of the summer, took nearly two years from planning to procurement.

”We are excited to be working with Ultrasafe Security Specialists on this project”, states Todd McNamee, Deputy Director of Airports for the County of Ventura. “The technology will greatly enhance our ability to effectively secure and monitor our airport facilities.”

Ultrasafe has installed similar state-of-the-art security systems at Fullerton, Corona, Santa Monica, Redlands, Big Bear, CA and Page, AZ Airports.

Ron Lander, CPP, CAS, is CEO of Ultrasafe Security of Norco, CA. He reported that he has received numerous inquiries from throughout the Southwest, but funding has been a hurdle that has slowed down the procurement process. He added that nearly a dozen other airports are in various stages of funding acquisition and it seems that the latest TSA guidelines have given government agencies more flexibility in seeking funding.
